Botox Facts

Botox is injected with very fine needles, most commonly to relax the muscles that cause the crow's feet or frown lines between the eyebrows. It may also be used for other areas such as forehead lines.
Botox may also be effective to reduce perspiration in the underarms.
The effects of Botox may take 1 to 14 days to appear.
The effects lessen with time and require 'top up' treatments up to three times a year. More entrenched lines may benefit from a filler.
You may return to normal activity immediately. Bruises are rare. Swelling may occur. Rarely, an adjacent muscle may be affected, resulting in unwanted effects. These effects are temporary.
Those who are breastfeeding or who have neuromuscular disorders should not use Botox.
